Individual Therapy in Salt Lake City & Online Across Utah
A Thoughtful Space to Better Understand Yourself
Individual therapy offers space to slow down, better understand what you are experiencing, and begin making changes that feel meaningful to you.
Many adults who reach out are thoughtful, capable, and used to holding a great deal internally. Anxiety, perfectionism, self-doubt, difficult experiences, or patterns in relationships may continue to affect your life in ways that can be difficult to understand or change on your own.
Therapy can offer a place to explore what has shaped you, develop a greater sense of self, and move toward a life that feels more authentic, connected, and aligned with who you are.
Common Areas We May Explore Together
You may have a clear sense of what you want to work on, or you may simply know that something in your life no longer feels the way you want it to. Therapy can help you better understand what you are experiencing, recognize patterns that may be shaping your life, and consider what you want to be different.
Some of the areas we may explore together include:
Anxiety, perfectionism, and self-doubt
Trauma and experiences that continue to shape the present
Identity, authenticity, and developing a greater sense of self
Relationships, connection, and patterns that feel difficult to change
The impact of non-affirming or high-demand environments
Life transitions, uncertainty, and adjusting to significant change
I also provide affirming therapy for LGBTQIA+ adults, with particular depth in working with gay men. This work often includes understanding how experiences related to identity, relationships, belonging, and non-affirming environments may continue to shape how you see yourself and connect with others.
What Individual Therapy Can Look Like
Therapy gives us an opportunity to look more closely at what you are experiencing, where certain patterns may have come from, and what you want to be different.
Together, we may explore how past experiences, relationships, beliefs, and ways of coping have shaped how you see yourself and move through the world today. Some patterns may have helped you adapt at one point but no longer serve you in the same way.
Therapy can help you develop greater awareness of these patterns, understand your emotions and needs more clearly, and begin making changes that feel meaningful and sustainable. Throughout our work, I listen closely, reflect what I notice, and help bring language to experiences that may feel difficult to untangle alone.
When Past Experiences Continue to Feel Present
Difficult experiences do not always stay in the past. They can continue to influence how you see yourself, respond to stress, connect with others, or move through your daily life.
When trauma or other painful experiences are part of what brings you to therapy, our work may include approaches designed to help you process those experiences and reduce their impact on the present. This may include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) when it fits your needs and goals.
We begin by understanding your experiences, developing the resources and support you need, and preparing thoughtfully before moving into deeper processing work.
Getting Started
We begin with a free 15-minute consultation, available in person or online. This gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, answer questions, and consider whether scheduling an initial assessment feels like a good next step.
During the initial assessment, we'll take more time to understand what you are experiencing, what has brought you to therapy, and what you hope to work toward. It also gives us more time to consider whether working together feels like a good fit.
Individual therapy is available in person in Salt Lake City and through secure telehealth across Utah.
