Gay Men’s Therapy in Salt Lake City & Across Utah

A Space to Better Understand Yourself, Relationships, and What Still Feels Heavy

EMDR and trauma-informed therapy for gay men in Salt Lake City and through telehealth across Utah, providing affirming support for healing, identity, and connection.

I provide LGBTQIA+ affirming individual therapy for gay men in Salt Lake City and via telehealth throughout Utah. Therapy is grounded in respect for your identity, relationships, and the experiences that have shaped you.

Many gay men who reach out appear to be functioning well on the outside. They may be thoughtful, capable, and successful, yet still feel anxiety, pressure, loneliness, or a quiet sense of disconnection beneath the surface.

Sometimes this shows up in relationships, dating patterns, self-criticism, difficulty slowing down, or feeling uncertain about who you are outside of expectations placed on you by others.

Therapy offers space to better understand these patterns in context and begin moving toward a life that feels more grounded, connected, and authentic.

If you’re considering therapy, you’re welcome to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if working together feels like a good fit.

What Often Brings Gay Men to Therapy

Common themes that show up in this work include:

  • Anxiety, self-doubt, or emotional exhaustion

  • Perfectionism and high expectations of self

  • Dating, intimacy, and attachment patterns

  • Shame or internalized messaging

  • Body image and self-esteem concerns

  • Minority stress or experiences of rejection

  • Navigating family expectations or building chosen family

  • Rebuilding after non-affirming or high-pressure environments

You do not need a perfect explanation for why you are here. If something feels unsettled, that is enough.

How We Approach the Work

Rather than focusing only on symptoms or quick solutions, we take time to understand what may be shaping your experience beneath the surface.

This work often involves exploring patterns related to relationships, identity, shame, perfectionism, emotional disconnection, or the impact of environments that may not have fully affirmed who you are.

Some clients also choose to incorporate trauma-informed work and EMDR as deeper experiences and patterns begin to feel more approachable over time.

Therapy is not about changing who you are. It is about developing a clearer relationship with yourself and moving toward a life that feels more connected, grounded, and authentic.
