Fees and Payment Options

What to Know Before Getting Started

Starting therapy is a meaningful decision, and understanding fees, insurance, and payment options can help you decide what works best for you.

New Heights Counseling offers individual therapy for adults in Salt Lake City and online across Utah. Telehealth services are also available to self-pay clients located in Arizona.

Session Fees

Initial Assessment | $200

The initial assessment gives us time to better understand what brings you to therapy, what you are experiencing, and what you hope to work toward. It also gives us more time to consider whether working together feels like a good fit.

Individual Therapy | $185

Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes. Depending on what brings you to therapy and what we are working toward, sessions may also include EMDR when appropriate.

Extended EMDR Sessions | 120–180 Minutes

Extended sessions offer more focused time for EMDR work and are available upon request when clinically appropriate. Extended EMDR sessions are self-pay.

Insurance

I am in-network with select insurance plans for clients located in Utah. Services for clients located in Arizona are self-pay.

Insurance coverage can vary considerably between plans, even when they are administered by the same insurance company. If you plan to use insurance, I recommend contacting your insurance provider before beginning therapy to confirm your benefits and better understand your deductible, copay or coinsurance, and other out-of-pocket costs.

In-Network Plans

I am currently in-network with select plans administered through the following networks:

Self-Pay

Many clients choose to pay for therapy directly rather than use insurance.

Self-pay can offer greater flexibility in how therapy is structured and reduce some of the requirements that come with using insurance benefits.

If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Whether you receive reimbursement and how much you receive depends on your individual plan.

Choosing What Works for You

Whether you use insurance or pay for therapy directly can depend on your coverage, financial circumstances, and preferences.

If you are interested in working together, we can begin with a free 15-minute consultation to briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, answer questions, and consider whether scheduling an initial assessment feels like a good next step.
