Gay Men’s Program In Salt Lake City
For Adults Navigating Life After High-Demand Religion
A new in-person offering in Salt Lake City is currently in development for individuals who identify as gay men and have left high-demand religion and are navigating what comes next.
I’m creating this program for adults strenthening identity, relationships, and a sense of self after stepping away from high-demand or non-affirming religious environments.
Whether the impact shows up in subtle ways or feels more immediate, many find that parts of the past continue to shape how they relate to themselves, others, and the world. This space is designed to support that process with care, clarity, and connection.
The first cohort is currently in development. I’ll share more details as the structure is finalized.
This May Be a Good Fit If You Are:
Strengthening identity, values, or a sense of self after leaving a high-demand religion
Navigating shame, self-criticism, or internalized messages that still linger
Exploring relationships, dating, intimacy, or connection in a new way
Feeling disconnected from friends, family, or your inner self
Adjusting to life outside of a structured or belief-based system
Wanting support that is thoughtful, affirming, and grounded
If you’re reading this and something resonates, you’re welcome to join the interest list.
About the Program
I’m developing this as a structured and intentional in-person experience in Salt Lake City for gay men who have left high-demand religion and are looking for meaningful support and connection.
The format is still being finalized and may include a therapy group, structured psychoeducational elements, or a combination of both. I’ll provide clear details about the nature of the program, including whether it is considered clinical group therapy, before enrollment.
I’ll share more information about schedule, exact location, group size, and registration as it becomes available.
A Thoughtful, Affirming Approach
This program is being developed as part of New Heights Counseling, a private practice providing individual therapy for adults in Salt Lake City and online across Utah.
My work is grounded in a warm, affirming, and client-centered approach, with attention to cultural context, lived experience, and the complexities that can come with leaving high-demand or non-affirming environments.
This is not a space for quick fixes or one-size-fits-all approaches. My intention is to offer something more thoughtful, intentional, and aligned with the kind of life you are working toward.
What to Expect Next
The program is not yet open for enrollment. As details are finalized, I’ll share information about structure, schedule, fees, and how to join with those on the interest list.
Participation will include a brief consultation to ensure the program is a good fit and to support a thoughtful group experience.
If this feels like something that may be meaningful for you, you’re welcome to reach out.
This program is not intended for crisis or emergency support. If you are in immediate need of care, please contact local emergency services or a crisis resource.
